I decided to read Now You See Her by Joy Fielding because I thought it would be a quick read. My year end for book counts is February 18th. I'm hoping to fit another short read in.
Now You See Her was published in 2011. It's been sitting on my shelf for I don't know how long. But I've always loved her books and this one did not disappoint. If I had to categorize the genre I would say Women's Suspense Fiction.
Marcy's daughter disappeared 2 years earlier. Because her upturned canoe was found she was pronounced dead even though no body was found. Marcy refused to believe her daughter was dead but her family insisted she was and told her she should accept it.
While on a trip to Ireland Marcy spots her daughter and begins to hunt her down. She tells people her story and they are willing to help her find her daughter. In the process she gets herself into trouble, mischief mostly. Again she runs into people who don't believe her story about her daughter still being alive. She doesn't know who she can trust.
You have to read this suspenseful adventure to find out who she should really trust and where she finds her troublesome daughter in the end.
I gave this story 4 out of 5 stars. I do get tired of stories where people think the main character is crazy and don't believe them. I mean, the reader starts to think she's crazy. But I was pulling for Marcy. I wanted her to find her daughter. It would be interesting to hear other people's opinions.

Sounds like an interesting book. I think I’ll put it on my list of books to read. I have a few and in the middle of one right now.
