Evil Female Spirits

When we see or hear the word nightmare we think of very bad dreams that happen during the night. Sometimes they are so frightening we cannot get back to sleep. In Medieval times people thought nightmares were some kind of strange paranormal activity. In the 13th century, the word nightmare actually meant an evil female spirit that would try to suffocate people while they were sleeping. The world mare is derived from an Old English word that means incubus or evil spirit and in Middle English, it became associated with an evil female spirit. Once science came along and some research was done it became known that nightmares were caused by our brains acting up probably through worry or anxiety and brought us our worst nightmares but certainly, no evil spirits were making us have these bad dreams. One way or another I am glad I have not had nightmares in a long time. I do remember having some ages ago that when I managed to wake up and calm down I fell asleep and continued that terrible nightmare and so on all night long. Who has had a nightmare lately?

I beg to differ, spirits can cause nightmares.Until I found @whiteream I had spirits interfering with my sleep for many years. With her help I now have normmal dreams and forget them just about as soon as I wake.

I have not had one for a long time. But do believe spirits can cause them too.

You are probably right @wolfgirl569 also depending on what is on your mind and what or who has been troubling you.

I've also had nightmares and it's always about a ghost, I know that he is evil and scares me, and the ghost is always in the same house on the 3rd floor. I always wake up before he attacks me, it does take me a while to go back to sleep, and I try to think of something else. Also, I live in an apartment, and this apartment I have seen an apparition of a young teen. This apartment does have it's noise in the middle of the night though it doesn't scare me. So what I do now is ask Michael the Guardian to help not have any nightmares. And it has helped me.

That is great that you are having help with this nightmare @kaleegirl45 you almost make that nightmare sound like something out of the movie Nightmare on Elm Street. Hope you do not have it again.

@andriaperry that is great to have protection. Back in Latvia, I had this one nightmare that I awoke from then it took me back in and finally I could not tell what was real or not and upon waking it seemed the entities from the nightmare followed me into reality.

I used to have bad dreams all people I did not know, I drew the line when I was attacked in my dream, I told Brenda aka @whiteream and she did her thing, sent me protection and I am good for the first time since I was 16 years old. I sent you a pm.
