So while the current cricket series across the world and the upcoming world cup cricket 2019 to be held in England keep holding my keen interest, I do, from time to time watch clippings or highlights of some old matches.
So today I saw this match between India and England of the 1992 world cup. It was a close match in which England won by 9 runs.
For England, Graham Gooch scored 51 and ably supported Robin Smith who scored 91 runs with 8 fours and two sixes.
In response, India fell short by 9 runs and that too due to some late hitting by S.Bannerje who scored a quickfire 25 of 16 balls not out towards the end. Initially, K.Srikant - 31, Sachin Tendulkar- 35 and Ravi Shastri 57 all tried to take India through but kept on getting out.
While the match by itself is not much significant, but it can be shown as a study in that if we keep on losing wickets, it does not helps much, and that if we are persistent, we can win even tough matches.
