Have You Ever Felt Afraid While Alone In Your Room?

Last night, I slept alone in my parents bedroom.
We took my mother to the hospital yesterday , so her NGT - Nasogastric tube will be changed to PEG - Percutaneous Gastros endoscopic gastrosnomy . We left her together with my sister , who acts as her caregiver and her daughter. They will be coming home on Thursday morning still.
Thus, I am alone in my parent’s bedroom since some of you have known that our father died last April 2018.
I have been telling my sisters that how I wish our father appears in my dream and I won’t be afraid.
But I was wrong.
Last night when I went to the bathroom to pee, I wasn’t able to sleep back anymore. It was 3:00 a.m.
I was so awake, but suddenly felt afraid since I was sleeping at our father’s bed and thought that he might be in the room. How much more if I dreamt of him and awaken alone in the bedroom.
I pulled the blanket over my head and just prayed , while my eyes are closed, until my cellphone alarm went off. It was 5:00 am.
My sisters laughed at me when I shared it with them in our chat page.
I think tonight I should let my other sister sleep at my mother’s bed too, to accompany me.
Anyway, I will be going home to my husband tomorrow.
Have you ever felt afraid while alone at night in your bedroom?

When I was younger, yes, I was too afraid. But now that I am older, I think I am not scared anymore.
If you will be alone again tonight, you might not want to read this:
I even experienced a few years ago that someone was climbing up the stairs here at home. I was alone upstairs. My brother's family's room was downstairs and also my late grandmother.
I heard it, maybe it was about past 9 in the evening. It was still a bit early and I thought it was my brother. But when he comes upstairs, he calls my name so when I didn't hear him call, I opened the door and looked for the one going up...
No one. I even went downstairs and all their rooms were locked. I checked the kitchen... the CR... no one.
I texted my mother who's out of the country with my father. I told her I heard someone climbing up the stairs but there was no one. She called me up on my cellphone. Then asked me if I am scared. I told her I am not scared. She said, if that happens... and there was a few seconds of silence on her end.
I asked her what I should do? And then she asked, "who's there with you?" I told her I am alone in my room.
I asked why and she said, when she was about to tell me what to do, she heard a woman's scream, saying "waaaaaaaaaah!!!" I told her that was not me. She said she had goosebumps..
And she said I should not open my door when I hear strange noise in the night. And that I should pray...
After that I told her okay I will and then I told her I am going to charge my phone because it's almost empty.
While charging, I received a text from her asking if I am talking to someone because she can't call me up again. I told her nope.. I was charging my phone.

I think we watch too many horror movies which is causing our overactive imagination. But seriously, being afraid of our love ones if they put up a ghostly appearance? I would take the opportunity to ask them what kind of lifestyle exist in the afterlife.

Me too, I am not afraid being alone in our bedroom. But not in my parents' bedroom.
I really will tell my other sister to be in my mother's bed to accompany me tonight.
I can understand why you will not sleep in the bed of your late mother's empty apartment.
By the way, what happen now to your mother's apartment?

I cannot believe in ghosts,,,except for one occasion. People were talking about someone who had recently tied going to their house at about that time of the day. There was an outside door and an inside door. The inside door opened for no apparent reason, while the outside door remained closed,,,they said. I was not there.

As a believer you shouldn't be afraid of such things. Your father is now with the Lord and he is at peace. He is in a different place, he has cut off his relationship with the world. Only souls that do not know the lord wander around. Please pray and read your Bible.

No, I'm never afraid when alone at night in my own bedroom, which is rare. However, I wouldn't have wanted to sleep in my parents' bed. I have had wonderful dreams of my parents coming to visit me. Those made me feel so good at seeing them again.

You made me laugh! I experienced being alone and afraid too, but I could not sleep with my head covered with blanket, I could not breath well. I just turn on the lights. Your father will not let you be frightened; he knows you could not bear it.

I am used to covering even my head with the blanket, when the aircon gets so cold and I feel lazy to get the remote from the table.
Yes, i know he will not let me be frightened. I would like to believe that it was my imagination that scared me since I am in my late father's bed, how much more alone and the room dark. I cannot sleep with the lights on that's why.

I can understand your concern for you've been dreaming about your Dad lately too. I'd be like you and pray. Some people are sensitive and now with your ailing Mother, your Dad appears in your dreams as if to let you know he is worried or concerned about your Mother and family. It's not to scare you it's just that he can't communicate with you any other way. Many have visits from heaven in their dreams. I have been dreaming of my Mother who passed away. I was so distraught, so I cried and cried and thought if I could only see my Mother just one more time. Then she appeared in my dream, ...I was so satisfied, like when you've been hunting for something and finally found it feeling. This may help. Parents whether passed or living need not be frightened of. . When my Mother passed I could hear her slippers in my home, she always house slippers. I thought everything is going to be alright, God rest and keep you Mom. The next day the slipper sound disappeared and I've not heard them in 2 years.

Thank you for this beautiful explanation and comment. I am convinced that my father might have wanted really to make us feel not worried of our mother.
Truly, my mother's laboratory results were all good and she was given clearance by the doctors handling her.
Now, the PEG insertion is done and she slept a long time and she woke up normally. At least , there's no tube in her nose anymore.

@SIMPLYD speaking of ghost when I was young I got to see my deceased uncle in one of the family gathering right after his burial. I didn’t felt afraid but knowing that he passed away make me felt uneasy seeing him seated in one corner of the house.

@SIMPLYD Yes i am not. Because according to the Bible, they cannot return here. All the fear that we feel is caused by demons. And demons are scared in the name of Jesus.
