The Dead Sea Scrolls are an important archeological find, beginning in 1946. Scholars generally agree in the last three centuries BCE and the first century CE. They were found in the Qumran Caves near the Dead Sea in Israel. The picture here shows the desert hillsides with their caves in which the scrolls were found.
