Back to Wichita, back to the VA Hospital. Hubby WANTS to come home today. I bet it does not happen.
I have heard there is a way to get reimbursed for gas for these trips, but I have not followed through.
Reimbursement may help with money, but it does not take care of time. You can never get the time back for this.
My only thought is that the quality of time we spend going forward is going to improve.
Today is a sunny day. I would love to be working at home, but I will not be.
I have had breakfast, packed a lunch and it is time to go.

Yes, there is a way: go to the hospital's travel office and request reimbursement. They'll give you a form to fill out.

There is a program here that you can get reimbursed a portion of the gas costs for medical trips but only with certain insurances is it accepted. Any money you can save will be nice but your right you can't get the time back. Him being healthy and getting the care he needs is the most important thing.

Have a safe trip. Maybe today he'll get to come home. I know that will be a blessing for both of you.

Yes, it is good to have him sleeping in his own bed, and he is more comfortable.

Even though it won't give you back the time, I do hope you find out about the reimbursements, and take it. As you guys have been through so much travelling and doctors visits in such a short time. You deserve to get it back.

He has had prostate cancer, and then this year he started bleeding. We have been dealing with emergency room trips and hospitalizations for nine months. We have changed doctors recently and seem to be on the road to wellness.

@GardenGerty im glad to hear that. I hope that your husband can recover totally from it. It is hard to have someone you love suffer from some kind of illness. I think he doesnt like the hospital anymore, my friends are like that, they dont like to stay long in the hospital
