While waiting in the Dr.office for my visit and picked up Newsweek. They had an article about sitting too long is hazard to our health. I talked to my Dr.on this and he agreed it is. This is what he said to us.Mike and I I do get up and walked around. If the weather is good.Go for my.walk - --------------------- ------------------------------- Too much sitting overall and prolonged periods of sitting also seem to increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer. Any extended sitting — such as at a desk, behind a wheel or in front of a screen — can be harmful. ... Take a break from sitting every 30 minutes.

I have to remind myself to get up when I'm on the computer. Sometimes I get lost here on myLot and sit for too long.

You are absolutely right. Even long time sitting creates back problems very soon. This also happens to me.

I do try to get up and walk around a lot. I've started walking again even just around my building if it's bad weather so that helps. Good advice!

That's why having an active life is does good to our health. When being sitting down for long hours is important to take some time to stand up and walk for a while so our back muscles stretch.

Yep. Hubby has back issues - and the doctor thinks it's from sitting too long at work (which he's done for many years).

@amadeo He does now . . . but there is one area in his lower back where it always bugs him . . . he has to stretch daily or else serious pain comes back.

In traditional Chinese medicine, massage, cupping acupuncture, can be very good conditioning! It depends on whether you dare to try it or not.
