I used to belong to an organic produce group that would deliver every 2 weeks. You never knew what you were going to get but it was always a good assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The problem is that it just got to be expensive--$52 per box when I finally gave it up.
I've been seeing ads for Misfits Market on Facebook for the past month and I finally got curious about it. They say that "ugly" produce needs love too. There are 2 box sizes to choose from: 10-12 pounds for $19 or 18-20 pounds for $34. Everything is organic and you can select if you want your deliveries to be every week or every other week.
I received my box today and was very pleased with the selection and the fact that everything looked pretty much perfect. I was expecting some funky stuff! The butternut squash had a bit of a crack in it but nothing that would make me not want to buy or eat it.
The selection today included: collard greens, baby spinach, grape tomatoes, butternut squash, green peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, a turnip, potatoes, limes, pears, and oranges. I like all everything except the collards but my parrot will happily eat those.
I am definitely going to continue this subscription. It is perfect for my lifestyle!

I don't think so. I think it is only NJ, NY, and PA right now but their site has a waiting list that you can add your email to so you will be informed if/when they start servicing your area. It only makes sense that they would soon enough since you live in an area where things are growing all the time.

@NJChicaa I do live in a weird place for those types of things. Our Walmart just got cardside to go.

@thislittlepennyearns Well this is shipped right to your door. It came here from Philadelphia, PA. I think it is just a matter of them developing a network with distributors to obtain the produce and then getting set up.

I think it is just in this tri-state area at the moment but they have a waiting list that you can put your name on so you are notified if/when it becomes available in your area. Seems like something that would be perfect for CA with all of the agriculture you guys have there.

What has been sent to you makes me think of Master Chef and Junior Chef. Every chef will be given a box with mystery ingredients in there and it will depend on the chef what he or she can make out of those ingredients 8-)

That is a huge cost difference between what you paid with the organic produce place. A friend of mine on Facebook loves the Misfits Market and always posts what she gets. It looks like you got more in your box then she does so I assume you went with the larger size box? I agree the things you look really look pretty much perfect. Hers have been a little odd shaped. Maybe they gave you a good box to get you hooked
