Rare Backyard Bird

Bird watching is a favorite hobby of mine, as well as photographing the birds. I have a feeder on my deck and the birds can easily be seen from indoors. Most of my photos of the birds at the feeder are taken from inside, behind the patio doors. The birds are easily sacred away, so I have found this to be the easiest way to photograph. Maybe not the best photos but during the winter, it is too cold to stand out on the deck with the tripod. I will do that in the spring and summer to photograph the hummingbirds and bluebirds. A member has asked that I share more bird photos. I was honored to do that as I have tons on my computer. Most birds enjoy the sunflower seeds and whole peanuts I put in the feeder. This photo is of a white dove that rarely visits. I have mourning doves but these are rare at my feeder. After researching they are called Eurasian collared doves. They are stunning to see up close. ©CarolDM Do you see many backyard birds?

Love the photo! We have two white doves living here, but I've yet to see them. Other than that, it's a bird sanctuary here and up north at our other home. The birds are totally different in both places.

We do a lot of bird watching also but I've never seen that type of dove. Which part of the country do you live in?

I have plenty of doves identical to the one in your photo. They started coming to my feeders years ago, only a couple in the beginning, now they are 25.

I think I see more in the front. The other day I had a bluebird in the tree outside the window. It was so nice to see.

A bluebird? I see them on occasion at the bird bath this time of year, then they visit in the spring.

Our garden is so designed to attract birds. We have several fruit trees and a birdbath. There is never a day I do not see them. It is now time for cuckoos. We have a Noni tree and they love this fruit
