I Wonder Why Some Old People Refuse to throw their Old unnecessary things away.

February 17, 2019 5:03am CST
I remember when i used to visit my Granny during vacations and the room i slept in were full of stuffs she stopped using long time ago. I will ask her to clean up the place and dispose some of the things away but she will completely disagree. I asked my mom why this is so and she said "because the things carried most of her memories from the past". Meanwhile, my granny will tell me i will live to know better. I thought based on my mom's answer, my granny felt lonely so the things helped her to feel the past when she wasn't lonely. What do you think?

One of my sisters is famous for this. I clear clutter often. Atleast it is kept at a place I do not bump into. Whoever wants can pick anything from there.

I have to admit, that I don't like to toss my kid's artwork even thought they are all grown up now. So, I can almost understand where your grandmother is coming from.

I am a minimalist. And I think setting aside an area for memorabilias would be a nice idea.

There are sentimental people like your granny. We just need to understand them
