I am a shy person. I prefer to express my feelings and thoughts online. Many times family or friends don't understand my problems. Here I can find people with similar problems. I thought that I was the only one who has many problems. But I have things in common with so many people. Do you agree with me? Is mylot a great place for shy people?

Mylot is a great place for a lot of different types of people, not just shy. Of course shy people would benefit the most from this site.

The anonymity of online was made for the shy.

I am a shy person too ..i am like you and can express myself better online or even in text ..i think because it gives me time to think about what i want to say
And i get to chose the ones i respond to and that
Makes it easier because i choose the ones i feel.i can add something too .. When otherwise conversations for me are sometimes hard. .

@dya80dya no, I'm not a shy person, but it depends on the situation sometimes.

Maybe being here chatting will help you leave some of your shyness behind. I was shy until I was 26, but not as much since.

@dya80dya I think I began overcoming it when I was still in school. I used to enjoy spending time with my extended family like cousins, but I hated walking into a room when we first arrived if others were there before us.
Eventually, I'd tell myself that everyone wasn't looking only at me like I once thought and over time I became less self-conscious. Then later, when I turned 26 I got involved in studying the Bible, which I wasn't taught nor ever read before that and I believe that helped me to over come a lot of that shyness even more.
There are probably a lot more shy people in the world than those that aren't shy and a lot of people have learned to hide their shyness from others. If you know that, it sort of helps you think of things differently.

@MarshaMusselman Studying the Bible helped you to overcome shyness? I didn't expect this. In what way it helped you?

@dya80dya , One of my big sisters was a shy person, so I fully understand the nature of that type of person. I also have a big brother, who is an extrovert and I let him do most of the talking. I know different types of people because I have worked in retail. I am extroverted acting and when I am online I can focus on the individual. If I am talking to people in real life, it's like a talking competition. If I can I try to get a word in edge wise.
After an analysis on my own, I guess I am actually more of an introvert. I guess I get carried away sometimes in public and like to talk a lot to people, but this is more of a manic tendency rather than an extrovert tendency. I looked at the chart and was surprised to see that I fall into the introvert category although, when I am in high spirits I tend to like to talk to people. So that is why I figured I was an extrovert. I guess I was wrong about that in retrospect.
Two main points I need to bring up in this conversation. My big sister who is shy does not like using the computer and does not do social media. She is a very private person, and my older brother who is the extrovert, spends more time with people in real life and hardly ever bothers with the internet.

I agree with you; am shy too (sometimes depending on the situation). And myLot offers us a venue to share anything within bounds of the rules here. Do not worry, everyone has his/her issues or problems.

Even so, interacting online is funny because in any way some kind of expectation and some kind of response get involve and it makes so interesting to know what anyone else out there think about you are telling
