Working on a Sunday

Philippines
February 24, 2019 3:18am CST
I am currently holding a job with a very odd schedule. I work Sundays - Thursdays from 12PM - 9PM. What I like about it the most is that there is not much traffic this day. My work week also starts rather slow because there is not too many people around. I do not feel as harassed compared before when my week starts on a Monday. However, I sometimes miss out on some important events or get togethers that are scheduled on Sundays. It's a challenge to arrange something during my free time as most people are not available. I have to get my family and friends to adjust their schedule and squeeze in whatever we need to do on Saturdays or maybe Friday nights. Over time, I think I have adjusted to this routine through time management. How do you deal with weekend work?

I was never crazy about weekend work but had to do it at times. What kind of work do you do?

@1hopefulman it's alright. I like what I do in general because I get to interact with people even though I'm just in front of my computer. It's just the work condition - schedule, location - that can be challenging at times.

Yes, there are difficult days especially when I am out late on Saturdays and had to get up for Sunday work. But other than that, I can still manage. Thank you.

I always worked Monday through Friday and it was easy for me to attend friends' meetings. I wish I could advise you on this, but I have no clue how to. What about talking to your boss to change your work schedule?

@filipinagirl Totally, it happens most times. Tell me at least you are earning a little more for the work schedule change?

@jvicentevalera oh unfortunately, there is no compensation change for this but we were informed upfront about it.

We previously worked Monday through Friday but due to business requirements, we had to align our schedule same with our clients. Definitely an adjustment. It has pros and cons.
