Why don't women like "the safe guy"

I've seen too many good guys turned away because some jerk apeals more to a woman's interest. Why is that? Why is the guy who would never think about cheating, get cheated on? I married a "safe guy" and I love it. I trust him completely, and he feels the same. Why do women fall for men who are wrong for them?
