What do you think of the habit of smelling old (or new) books?

Some say that the habit of smelling old or new books is "kinda weird" and unexplained.
There are also those who say that the same habit is one of the coolest things in the world... But there is no logical explanation for that either, haha!
On which side of the two teams would you say you are?

Old books smell better. I can't remember where, but I read something about the chemical reaction in the brain because of the smell of books. It had something to do with Vanilin and something else.. Maybe vetiver but I don't think that was it.
New books are okay but the smell of old books open up a whole new world.

Some old books do smell very musty. I don't like the smell of them.

I have never smelled a book. I read the back cover to see what it is about and then go into it and read it and leaving the smelling to someone else.

I absolutely adore the smell of old books. It is much better than used books. I ordered a used book once and even though the book was in good condition it had a very strange perfumy scent to it.

I love the smell of books new and old. I think I just like the smell of paper because I also enjoy the smell of notebooks as well haha
