Update to my original story at the bottom.
Watching the news this morning. Heard that think they have found a cure for AIDS with a bone marrow transplant in London.
I grew up in the eighties when the scare was everywhere. We watched movies about a little boy infected from a blood transplant. People were afraid to sit next to someone infected.
Of course, now we know more about its transmission. Knowledge makes the world go round.
Update to my original story. They believe that they can place an HIV patients illness into sustainable remission. Sorry for the confusion. I just barely heard the report and was wondering if anyone had heard the same story.
I have since found the story at this link
For anyone that wants to hear the pro's report on it.n
Again I apologize for my excitement to have a discussion to start.
A second person has experienced sustained remission from HIV-1, according to a case study to be published Tuesday in the journal Nature. The "London Patient" has been effectively cured of the viral infection which affects close to 37 million people worldwi

This would be such an incredible thing and helped so many that are affected. I hope it happens soon.

I am sorry, in my haste and excitement I was mistaken. It is a cure or medicine that put HIV patients illness dormant.

While that is interesting and promising, it continues to make sense to live a lifestyle where we can avoid AIDS all-together.
