We could all use some relaxation from time to time, It is very beneficial to be able to clear and train your mind and take a break from the worries and every day life! Meditation is known to help lower blood pressure, improve blood circulation, lower heart rate, lessen perspiration, slow respiratory rate, lessen anxiety, lower blood cortisol levels, improve feelings of well-being, lessen stress and deepen relaxation. So here's some tips for beginners! 1) Tip one is so simple yet one of the most important! Make sure to sit or lie comfortably! You don't want to be distracted because you're wishing you had more pillows! 2) Dim the room and close your eyes, you don't want to be distracted by bright light. 3) Do breathing exercises! Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation. Notice the movement of your body as you breathe. Observe your chest, shoulders, rib cage, and belly. Simply focus your attention on your breath without controlling its pace or intensity. 4) If your mind wanders, that's okay! Just return your focus back to your breath. A lot of people as soon as their mind wanders will give up however this is normal, acknowledge the thought, (I like to imagine putting it into a river and letting it float away) and then begin to focus back on your breathing. 5) Use calming scents! Incense is great for this, find a scent you like and that calms you and use that whenever you meditate. If you use it every time you body will become used to the scent and know it is time to meditate when you smell it. This will make the process a lot easier! 6) Most importantly, start small!! You will not be able to meditate for an hour on your first try! Start small with 2-3 minutes at a time, and slowly work up to a longer amount of time. Please share your own tips below! Or if you have any struggles with meditation comment and I will advise you how best to solve it! :)

This is a great post. I sure could do with meditation. The anxiety has been making me stay up too late in recent days.
