I am watching my husband play a video game right now, actually. I love both playing and watching others play games. Most of the games I watch others play tend to be games that I do not intend to play myself or own the system for. Sometimes I watch others play simply because I want to learn more about a game or see how someone approached a situation in a game I might already have played. If I didn't I would miss out on some really interesting stories and strategies. And it is also kind of comforting. I grew up watching my older brothers and friends play games while I cheered them on.
I am rather fond of roguelikes and simulations. Any game that takes a bit of time to learn and master. I also like games with a good story too.

You needed a comma to separate tour tags into two. One for video games. Otherwise yours will be the only one to ever come up here.

Kids seem to like to do this - I do not. Do you know there are videos of people playing video games - and the sad thing is kids like watching those videos too. I liked certain video games as a kid, but that phase is well behind me.

Well I'm a senior and I do enjoy playing most games. Maybe because they weren't available when I was younger, I don't know but I'm addicted much the same as I am to mylot.

I enjoy playing, but watching others is like watching paint dry.

Some video games can be educational, when my boys were learning multiplication tables, there was a game which helped them more, like that they were learning through play. I play games with my sons when I can.

@amadeo Because I just feel that it is better to play also.Because if you just watch then you will just sit down there like a lemon.

I don't play them and I don't like watching others play them. But surprisingly a lot of people do. It's a bit surprising to me that some of the highest paid YouTubers are simply gamers who post their play on YouTube, and some make millions from it.

I won't declare that video games have taught me something. Most are not that educational but some try to be. What they might do is make me think of something which then makes me go ask questions.

I'm not particularly fond of watching others play video games. All my grandchildren play the popular ones

yes, I watch a lot of let's plays on YouTube. it's relaxing to me. I am not great at video games but I'm always interested in them, so I just watch somebody else play them and I can still find enjoyment in that.
but I do love the old super Mario games. I played those A LOT
