Dogs are selfish. Bark bark means I want food and attention. They are constantly needy compared to a cat.

Thats the point the dog bark to call attention in change of its loyalty and companion, of course it doesnt know, the dog is the most simple creature it just exists and bark and stay with you til the end

@Clemensau This is not true, because every day the Animal Shelters place adds because of dogs that run away from their owners. They see a cat and they try to chase the cat and they totally forget about their owners.

Cats are more self sufficient, they use us to get their food and for pats , but I love them the same.

You gave the answer...."...they use us ...."and they don't know it, cause there is no malice in it, because of that they are natural and lovable

Cats are very intelligent animals, I've had about twenty of them in my lifetime. They all have a unique personality, just like dogs or people.

@Clemensau Yes, they do have feelings and cats tend to be quite intelligent. Our cats were all very affectionate.

My can be loving at times. Cats are that way because they are the most like their wild relatives.

I don't think that the next door neighbour's cat would fit into that category. He was the most lovable cat I have ever seen lol... All he ever wanted was a belly rub lol!!

I fully agree with @myklj999 cats are not at all selfish, they are independent. I do not have cats, but I let the cats of my neighbors come to visit me. They are lovely and they show their love. They are instinctive animals, they do not like all people, they surely know who like them and who does not.

You are very right about cats. They can be sweet too but my cat I have now comes to me when she wants me to pet her and when I get home from being out she greets me and does let me pet her nose. Dogs are very very sweet and loyal. Cats do care about us in their own way.
