By 2009, I was drifting away from KROQ as alternative music turned bland, uninteresting and not so alternative. I started listening to classic rock radio and catching on hard rock and hair band music I had missed during the 80s and 90s. More and more I began retreating to the comfort of listening to the past specifically late 70s to early 90s alternative new wave. As a result, I never heard of these 10-year-old biggest songs of 2009 though at least I have heard of the artists.
“Gives You Hell” All-American Rejects: This so-called alternative band was played on KROQ but no recollection of this tune.
“Heartless” Kanye West: All I know about him is tabloid gossip, Kim Kardashian and his crazy antics.
“Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it) Beyonce: Well, at least I saw Beyonce Knowles in “Dream Girls.”
“I’m Yours” Jason Mraz: Just seen the name.
“Right Round” Flo Rida: Again, just seen the name.
“Love Story” Taylor Swift: She is pretty anyway.
“I Gotta Feeling” Black Eyed Peas: I know Fergie is married to actor Josh Duhamel.
“Just Dance” Lady Gaga with Colby O’Donis: Whatever.
“Poker Face” Lady Gaga: The woman is in my face wherever I turn.
“Boom Boom Pow” Black Eyed Peas: Who knew a group with members named taboo and wil.i.am could be so big?
Do you know any of these songs? Any favorites here?

I have not listened to any of them much. I actually think Taylor Swift is a pretty talented songwriter, I know people dismiss her because her target audience is teenage girls. Lady Gaga, I think she's talented too, although I don't really listen to her much. Beyonce, she has a nice voice, but the way the entertainment media fawn over her just turns me off. The rest, I've heard the names, but that's about it.

i like Right Round Single Ladies wasn't too bad either. Not a fan of Poker Face, but Gaga can sing I'll give her that. Boom Boom Pow, I am certain I have heard.

I know all of these songs, but haven't listened to them in years. Except for Single Ladies which I danced to in a club last week! Someone told me to add Gives You Hell to my breakup playlist actually.
