Jobs are hard to come by here so when my fiancé found himself out of work after the company he previously worked for went under he started working for this temp agency. He has had a lot of work but nothing is steady and every job is different but we have been thankful for all the work he has gotten and the pay check each week.
About six months ago he got a placement at this factory. It is one of the biggest ones here in the city and they are a family owned business that has been around for over a hundred years. They treated him just like one of their employees but he was still employed with the temp agency.
Today when he went into work they called him into the office and told him that tomorrow would be his last day....his last day working with the temp agency. They offered him a full time job starting Monday. With it comes more money and great benefits. They are a great company to work for too. They were really impressed with his work. The temp sent five people there and he was the only one who was offered a job.
It will be nightshift for now. He works 5pm-3am Monday to Thursday and has all weekends off so that will work perfect for us. I am so excited!!
When he called me I could have cried. Things are really starting to look up for us. I am so so happy!!

Congratulations! I am so happy for both of you.
I know that once a worker hits a certain age, the jobs just aren't as easy to find, but it sounds like his dedication and hard work has paid off.
I remember when my husband was laid off from his job back in the early 90's, he called me one afternoon at work, and told me that he just got his call to go back. I was so excited I didn't get much work done the rest of that afternoon.

Thank you. We are both so happy but you know how it is. We hate be too happy because nothing seems to stay good for long before something happens.

Congratulations! That would have been a bigger lift (and a weight off your shoulders) than the sunshine we are receiving today.
