We write about all kinds of things here on mylot. Some discussion are personal in nature, some are about hobbies, some are adventurous in nature, there are others about work online /offline , then you have entertainment based discussion, politics based discussion and the inevitable religion based discussion.
Is there any kind of discussion that you hate immensely or you totally avoid.?
Do you have a preference for any specific kind of discussion?
Personally speaking I avoid politics like plague, I respond to some religious discussions but not always.
I love gardening or philosophical discussions, but really don't have too much time to write pages and debate.
However, I try to read most of them. How about you?

@andriaperry That's the spirit. I'm not saying anything against religion here. Each to their own. I'm only saying something against uninvited preachers and members offering to pray for others without having been asked to do so.

personally i don't like negative stories about people who are related to the writer, directly or indirectly. sometimes i just scan it and then that's it.
for example, the daughter has lice or nits.

@Mavic123456 I understand. I don't do any personal discussions here. I get a bit uneasy, but some people are fine with it. each to his own.

I do not jump into politics, although sometimes I read them. I feel that people who share their faith enrich mine. I do not watch television, so I do not know about all the popular shows. I tend to read people I have known a long time, or who motivate and inspire me in some way.

@GardenGerty A very balanced approach I should say. I have no clue about movies, but OI read them just to keep myself informed. I read most discussion on faith but don't get into commenting.

I avoid discussions that are lengthy. And those that belong to users who never come to mine (lol)

I don't mind anything really. Although I try not to get involved in religious discussions I sometimes feel compelled to when someone misuses science and scientific quotes to try to give scientific credibility to their beliefs.
Believe what you want but don't twist scientific evidence and quotations to act as 'proof' of your beliefs.

I think if I avoid topics it would be politics because it turns heated real fast. I think my favorite stuff to write about would be personal things because it's nice to be able to say exactly how you feel and think about things going on without having to worry about family or friends getting into itl

I have many interests. I'll read anything if I have the time but time is limited so I read here and there.

@1hopefulman Actually I read a lot of discussions, but i avoid controversial stuff. 'Much arguing' as Paul says isn't my cup of tea.

I read all but only comment or like some. I do not avoid because when I read I learn how a person thinks, how much hate they have in their hearts.

@andriaperry I read a lot of discussions and respond to some. I personally don't like negativity, anger and people calling each other names.

Not too much personal.
Politics and religion too as I feel they are individual things.
But if you ask me what discussions I enjoy .....I am sure you can guess

I don't like discussions that I can't relate to. Some are about a very specific topic, or are written in a way , that I can't understand what they are saying. I don't like discussions of that type.

@snowy22315 You obviously cannot relate to discussions you cannot relate to or cannot understand. I do find some of them here.. Its hard to respond.

All discussion is okay for me...as long as I know topic of the discussion. And how the discussion written will influence I read or not...

i tend to avoid posting personal things. i just have this anxiety that no one will actually care what i write, so i keep it to myself. i sometimes like reading other's personal posts, though.
and i usually avoid the overly long ones? i'm too lazy lol
