How did you choose your pet's name?

For almost all pet owners around the world, choosing the name of the new friend is one of the most fun and striking moments.
Basically, because it's a kind of baptism of the animal (and many people take this very seriously)... Which makes everything be so special!
Do you remember how you chose the name of yours?

Mine are picked different ways. Like Jill was a litter of 2 pups. The guy buying the male from me planed to call him Jack. So while they were both still on mom we had Jack and Jill.

My last dog's name was Neko and I just found it funny because he was a dog and the word means half man/half cat. He was a tan little chihuahua. My dogs now are a Boston terrier named Jasper and a chiweenie named Boots. Jasper I just put a poll out to my friends with like 4 names and that is the one that stuck. With Boots I came up with the name before I even saw her and when my brother brought her to me I asked what the previous people had named her (because she was several weeks old now and they had planned on originally keeping her) and he said they had named her Boots because of her fur on her feet looking like little brown boots. So that was just meant to be her name.
