Guys and Gals, I need you help. I have no idea what to cook this upcoming Sunday for lunch and cannot decide on a recipe. Any ideas out there? Maybe your favourite food or your easiest recipe? Cooking for kids can really be hard when you do not know what to cook for them

Maybe my 5mn ready pink Chinese noodles ? You need : - noodles - a small jar of red lumpfish roe - a small pack of pieces of smoked salmon. Cook the noodles, put them in a bowl, drop the lumpfish roe and salmon and toss until the noodles turn light pink, thanks to the dye in lumpfish roe. Ultra fast, funny and good.

Kids like simple things, did you ask them what they prefer? May be hot dogs would be their reply.

They are 3 and 1, the youngest can't really tell you. The older one would go for "nunu und Suppe" which is noodles and soup. Yeah, great... not very specific and in the end she would eat everything anyway.

@LadyDuck Why should hot dogs be dangerous? I just don't find them very healthy... we had goulash and breaded dumplings with cauliflower for lunch on Sunday. They loved it.

@LadyDuck Yeah.... in the US.... How many die in Germany or Europe? Do we have the same size of sausages? Don't blindly believe in statistics you haven't faked yourself.

@stine1online Give it to them. Add whatever they like. I like cheese, scrambled egg and vegies.

I would suggest pancakes, but mainly because it is one of the few things I can make myself. And they're good. I might make pancakes this weekend myself, I have loads of berries I can use with them

@stine1online My favourite when I make them myself is with bacon and blueberries. You could go healthy and make something fishy but some children refuse to eat fish (at least so I've been told). I think I had a time when I didn't like that bones in the fish but I always like fish, and never like fishfingers.

We do have pancakes during the week almost every week. Mostly with apples as this is what my husband prefers. Can't see them anymore *lol*

I think all kids love foods like burger, fries and noodles. You can have them and some cupcakes for dessert. That is my suggestion unless you are keeping it healthy.

@arunima25 That's a lovely idea, adding some easy dessert. I think I will do that.

@stine1online I am just like you I would have tossed loads of veggies in noodles and made some banana walnut cake. That's what I do sometimes to please my children.. Take a middle path

Sautee a mixture of corn, green peas, chopped carrots in garlic and onion and pork. Make sure that your pork are cooked already.

You cant beat a Bar-B-Q. Everybody loves one, you can buy meat to suit your budget; ie T-Bone steak, Lamb, Pork RIbs, Chicken, sausages, seafood or a mixture of any. No mess, not much cleaning and very little prep work.
