French fries is something I like. Tonight I made some DIY French fries. I must say that it costs much more than buying from McDonald's. However, DIY stuffs shall be better

It is less expensive to do them at home here, a small French fries in a McDonald's is worth 1kg of fresh potatoes, but living alone it is something that I never do. I do not eat often potatoes anyway.

I don't really think so. It spends me lots of oil to deep fry it and this is the biggest cost.

I cut them into piece and boil them for three minutes. After that, I put them into the fridge. After they are icy cold, I deep fry them directly.

We make French fries from fresh large potatoes, we get to eat a lot and save, I put them in cold water after slicing then do a double deep fry.

This is how I did. But you can put them into the fridge and then you can deep fry them directly anytime you like.

@youless But it would taste like those ready to fry in the mall if it's frozen ( we also eat that from time to time) the children cannot wait if it's french fries, they want it cooked and eaten right away. They are already circling you while you are still chopping
