Kindness is a language the whole world could speak

The title here was prompted from a chapter in the book
50 truths worth knowing.
Yes, that is the way the book cover shows the title. We see there are no capitals. This is true of the chapter titles as well.
One chapter is actually titled
kindness is a language the whole world speaks
However, as we all know some are not so kind, my title here has a twist to it.
What is the point of not being kind? One of my recent posts had some really rude comments about a particular religious group.
Are these comments needed in our world?
We were taught to keep rude thoughts to ourselves, but share kindness. No, we won't love everyone we meet and won't agree with all we meet. But why share such rudeness-
What do you think?

You are right @jaboUK
Some may not realize being kind doesn't show agreement.
We can all have different opinions and still be kind.

So true @PatZAnthony Sometimes I wonder how we even got this far without almost annihilating most human life.

I like the title of that chapter! We are encouraged to be kind to one another and so there is no need for rudeness.

@kepweng I think you are exaggerating. How can every person be rude?

There really is no need for rudeness, but some just can't seem to stop their behavior @1hopefulman

I really don't think it should be too hard to spare a few kind thoughts here and there. Sadly, it feels like people find it easier to talk about the negative then focus on the positive. But, really, life is too short about that. Of course, some people are not happy unless they are bringing others down for some reason. Hopefully some day they will see the folly of what they're doing. Hopefully some day.

You have some good points here @megamatt
It really does seem song enjoy not being kind.
Somehow this gives them pleasure.

Some people are downright mean and on purpose, others are just thoughtless and are unkind for that reason. Trying to be kind takes a little effort but the benefits are so wonderful it is surprising that more people don't try it.

The world would be much better off, if people practiced kindess as a regular practice.

i feel the same. like our mom's used to say, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all
that should go with actions also i think.

You are probably one of the kindest out there, but you know some think they have to speak their mind even when it hurts others.

I never could figure out why people are rude, mean, nasty and downright hateful. Were they taught to be that way? Was it a result of their upbringing? My parents raised me and my brother to always treat people with respect, and to always be kind to people no matter what. And even if I didn't have that upbringing, I still figured out along the way that you get a lot farther in life by being kind than you do being rude or mean.

Yes, you are right! Rudeness won't get us far in life. And maybe some were taught being rude to anyone who does not walk like them, believe like them is the way to go.

Ah yes. There are many theories on that - why unkindness thrives. Usually it's very unhappy people.

Rude responds are uncalled for. You should keep going if you can not be kind on a discussion.

I would rather a person be honest towards me even if that meant being angry and rude or just remain silent, as opposed to being friendly acting, but showing an actual underlying contempt towards me all the same.
As far as rude behavior is concerned, you can kill them with kindness if only to hide your true feelings. I have heard it said that rude behavior seems to go hand in hand with self-loathing. And my dad always said, cursing shows a lack of self-respect.
