People and selfies are not always a good mixture. Specially if said people are not very bright.
A woman wanted to get a selfie with a jaguar at a zoo in Arizona. As she wanted a near selfie, she jumped over the fence. The jaguar got her and attacked her. Fortunately she could be saved although she is badly injured.
The jaguar will not be killed as it was not its fault. When, I wonder, will people stop being so stupid?

She was very unwise to jump over the fence.

@LeaPea2417 Still the phone with the selfie app should be taken away from her.

I´d say she was very stupid. She was around 30 years old. Old to know better.

@marguicha I agree. I did hear that after she got stitches at the local hospital, she did go back to the zoo exhibit and apologize for what she had done. I am glad she took full responsibility and learned a lesson.

Yeah that's one of those things where "getting too close to a wild animal, might not be a good idea" should flash through people's head. And....I'm not sure if people will ever stop doing things that lack common sense. I feel very much like an old man yelling at the clouds when talking about selfies in general, but people really are putting their lives on the line for that moment. The risk does not seem worth the reward for me.

Last year I remember reading about a little boy that was barely saved. His mother did not watch him properly. I´d send that woman to jail and take the child away from her.

I did not hear about that. But I do remember about a couple that had a big ape for several years. Unfortunately, at one point, the ape discovered his wild side and killed his 'dad'.

@db20747 We all should know about wild animals. I don´t know why a human being would be so stupid to jump a rail to take a selfie with a jaguar. That is going much too far.

You are right. I could not get a jaguar at Pixabay. And you are right too, about people.

The girl was really stupid going inside the cage! Didn't she know that leopards are dangerous animals?
