When we were near the Chitwan National Park in Nepal,we had excursions in the jungle a couple of times. One time was on an elephant ride, in the rain during the end of the monsoon season. Another was a trek through the upper reaches of the Bengal Jungle. Part of the tour was crossing a river in a dugout canoe. The end of the walk was through elephant grass about as tall as we were, and which we saw people in the area using mud to plaster their homes. A number of people on this jungle walk found leaches attached to their skin when we got back to our countryside hotel.

Sounds like an exciting adventure except for the leeches. Yuck! Great photo.

They were awful for the people who had them, but no serious result.
