Many people suffer from acne and it can really hurt your confidence. I had it for nine years, so I know the feeling. I'm one of those people who have tried almost everything in those nine years, and because of that, I also learned that acne can be caused by different things:
1. Poor diet and habits
Eating dairy products, sugar and oily food might be causing your acne. If you eat a lot of these products, I suggest you cut them off of your diet. Also, drink a lot of water, exercise, and sleep early.
2. Dirt
Dirt and germs can also cause acne. If that's the case, you should find a good cleanser for your face; one that has zero alcohol and preferably all natural. If you want affordable and all natural products, you can try Human Nature. Also, avoid touching your face even though I know it's hard not to pick on your whiteheads.
3. Makeup
If you can go out without makeup, much better so you can avoid irritations. But if you like wearing makeup, make sure that the products you use are hypoallergenic and also, don't use makeup brush, as it irritates your skin even more.
Here are other things that might work for you; some of them I have tried, some worked for other people:
1. Aztec Bentonite Clay Mask
This one is my holy grail. I just mix the bentonite clay with apple cider vinegar. Remember not to use metal to mix. It dries out acne pretty fast in one application and makes the skin glow.
2. Green tea
I haven't tried this one, but I have been reading a lot about how green tea can cure acne. Just get a green tea bag, soak it in warm water and then wait for it to cool down. You can use it as a toner.
3. Isotretinoin
This is something you have to consult with your dermatologist because it needs prescription, but I have tried it and it's very effective.
4. Micellar Water
Some say that using only micellar water to cleanse the face has helped clear their acne and their face became less oily, too. But remember to always rinse it off, even when it says in the bottle that you can leave it on.
5. Don't use anything at all
I think I have read this on Facebook. There's a girl like me who says she's tried everything but it didn't work, so she just stopped trying. She started washing her face with just water and she never put powder or any makeup when she goes out. After a few months, she noticed that her acne is almost gone.
So there it is. I hope this post will help someone.

It is an informative post. I don't suffer from acnes but would definitely help those who do. I don't wear makeup and I eat healthy and exercise. I also take a lot of fluids. I think all these are tips for a healthy skin.

I have found that what I eat can aggravate the situation, especially junk and fat.

glad you added makeup on this list. it always astounds me when people say "oh no i have to cover up my acne with makeup"....but the makeup is what's making it worse! let your skin breathe.
these are great tips. i just drink lots of water and don't use makeup very often, i wash my face, i try to eat healthy and my skin stays clear. every once in a while my...time of the month will affect me and i'll get a tiny breakout, usually in the crease of my nose but other than that it's all good :)
