It has been two years now (on 8 th March), that the Dwejra Azure Window has collapsed. Dwejra is a place sought by tourist but also by the local people. For that occasion I had done two videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfdjKzGiQ-k

Too bad. Will never get to see it. What caused the collapse?

It was already being corroded by the sea and wind, but that night there was a big storm, the waves were strong and the column collapsed. It was a beautiful natural scene, at least there is another one in Gozo but the it is a bit difficult to arrive near it, I think that's why it is not so famous.

@wingedtip Great idea, but I think they thought it would take longer and that only the upper part would fall.

@DianeBorg It could have been preserved. Built an artistic bridge or a rustic archway around it probably as reinforcement.

Thanks, lots of people used to go there only to look at it, but there is another smaller one at Dwejra, which have an inland sea, and in Gozo there is also another big window although it is not that known of, probably because you have to drive in a bad road to get there.
