Trying to stay positive as it’s my 2nd day back from work and yesterday was super hectic. Just busy, but warmer temps outside and rain. I have mixed feelings about the rain. It is causing some flooding but at the same time is helping with melting of the massive amounts of snow we have out there. So that’s good!
What’s new in your world? I drank about 3/4 of a pot of coffee earlier today and I am feeling over caffeinated but ready to get things done at work!
I have had an interesting week so far.
First, I finally bit the bullet and paid for my EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) class - the learning portion is first online and in a couple months I will have a 60 hour skill week I have to do and then some testing. Nerd Alert, but I like learning and being in classes. And there is plenty to do. I have yet to dive into the textbook, but soon!
While I signed up for 4 hours of overtime on my day off, Sunday, I will be going to an infrared sauna session on sunday afternoon. I found a groupon for it and am excited for the heat. It’s supposed to be detoxifying and good for you too. And it’s kind of exciting to do something different, however small. My next “to do” is to get a massage. Never had one of those.
I am having a friend from another department sit along with me later today, too, which is exciting. I am hoping she will apply for my position, which we are hiring for currently at my job.
Anything new in your world?

OK, so you are to become an Emergency Medical technician soon - is it similar to Paramedic's course? I can understand that practical hands-on experience is very vital. Is Advanced Life Support, Cardiac Care and Trauma Care included in your syllabus?

Yes! So, EMT is a less skilled version of paramedics. They do trauma and life-saving care, but do not do anything with needles and do not ride in an ambulance. EMT's here usually provide life-saving support UNTIL paramedics arrive, first responders usually, like firefighters. I haven't decided if I want to choose that career path, but I am going to take the course and get the certification and decide later. Are you in the medical field? Sounds like you know lots about it!
