Rescue mission!

Superman to the rescue! Well, ok, not Superman just Teddy! A couple of days ago we were at our daughter's house, not just for a visit but to keep an eye on our youngest grandchild (and a very lively terrier pup named Misty), whilst our daughter went to collect our oldest grandchild from school. A few minutes after she drove out of the driveway the phone rang - her car had broken down. SuperTeddy immediately sprang into action and rushed to the scene to find a forlorn-looking daughter standing beside her car, which had suffered a flat tyre. Fortunately, her car carries a spare wheel (not all modern cars do) so I set about changing the tyre whilst our daughter took my car and went to pick up our grand-daughter from school. It's been quite some time since I last had to change a flat tyre but, with a little huffing and puffing and with the help of a few choice words the job was done and the car was mobile again. My car doesn't carry a spare. It came equipped with a pressurised bottle of guaranteed-to-inflate-any-kind-of-flat-tyre fluid. I have never used one of these and I must admit I'm dreading the next time my car gets a flat. I would much prefer the old-fashioned spare tyre way!

@Michellekidwell She's a very 'girlie' girl and works as a nail technician. Her hands are immaculate and there's no way she would even consider changing a tyre!

We had this pressurized bottle when we had an old "Mini Morris", it worked, we had a flat tire once and we used it. Now the spare tyre is smaller, just enough to reach your destination at a snail speed.

@ThreeTeddies It is anyway better than the bottle.

@LadyDuck I've had cars with the 'space saver' spare wheel you describe. I would much rather have that than the bottle!

I really have no idea how to change a tire... that should be something that they teach girls in high school! I do know about that pressurized bottle, but was always fearful that it wouldn't work when you needed it to!!

@Hate2Iron I don't like the thought of that pressurised bottle and I share your fear about it not working when you really need it

I have never used pressurised bottle to take care of a flat tire. How long is that suppose to last.

@jstory07 I have no idea. I suppose I really should read the instructions on the bottle! If (when) I get a flat tyre I'll probably call out my breakdown service if I can't do it myself.
