Here is another additon of my favorite songs celebrating the days of the week and the artists who recorded them. There is nothing like looking forward to the weekend. And this middle weekend day is big for dining out, going on a date with a special someone, or catching up with friends. So, to express those feelings for this special day of the week is a video by Eddie Cockran called "Weekend." Now isn't that a perfect title for a song. lol. This number rocks and rolls!!! Have a listen... Hope you enjoyed the tune. And now it' your turn to "rock out" those correct answers to these songs and artists... Whodunnit?- Here are your clues: 1. These Easy Listening singers were a quartet from Los Angeles. They were discovered by Herb Albert, who helped them get their big break, and the group produced a string of significant hits in the 60's. This tune was the theme song to the Liza Minelli movie The Sterile Cuckoo. Although the group choose it's name from a dictionary, you could of easily thought they got their moniker from a wading shorebird with it's long bill and long legs. 2. This 50's-60's R&B singer added the letter "e" to the end of his last name on his manger's advice because it sounded classier. Fun Fact: He was not the only artist who did this Marvin Gay(e) was another. He was one of the first African-American artists to truly cross over onto the Pop charts and resonate with white audiences. This song was written while touring England in 1962 with Little Richard. Along with many soulful ballads, he wrote a lot of lighter songs like this one. Some examples were "Having A Party," and "Twistin' The Night Away." Cat Stevens recorded this trivia weekend titled song in 1974 - his version hit the US charts at #6. This artist scored a popular #1 Billboard charter in 1957 with "You Send Me." Bonus: Eddie Cockran wrote another song which hit the top ten on the Billboard charts in 1958. The song was about the struggles between teenagers and their parents. Cockran used one of the four seasons as part of his song title. What is the name of this song? Ok, time to solve those songs and artists and "make your day." If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. "Reach Out and I'll Be There" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!! For number one, the bird would be a flamingo, but I don't know the song or artist. Nada for number 2.

#1- the bird was a Sandpiper. Also the name of the group The Sandpipers. They recorded a beautiful song which had the word "Day in the title." #2- The artists last name could be another word for heating something up or baking it. You Send Me- was one of his classic tunes along with this Saturday titled tune. Bonus- Cochran's tune had a season within it's title (Summer) Having a dispute with parents can really make one sad or (blue). Thanks for reading Valerie and enjoy the video of song #2...
