It is a slow but lovely Monday morning. Weather forecast says we are to have showers, but right now I see clear cloudless blue skies. Storms can sweep up quickly, though.
I talked by e mail with the person who will put my name out for substituting. She thinks that they may need me this week. I know I will be going to one or two schools for sure for the rest of the year.
I got up early, but postponed any activity until I knew if I would be called today. I will get ready and color my hair, I think.
I have a mixed pot of beans that I will cook. I par boil them first. I just want to use up some open bags. Since we have very little income we have started picking up commodities every other month. There are always a lot of dried beans in the mix. My sister gets commodities as well but only likes canned beans or dried pintos. So she gives me hers. Needless to say we have a lot. Later I will use hubby's family recipe and make the white beans into baked beans.
Beans are a heart healthy food. They are high in fiber and a good source of protein. I am trying to cook up some every week. Just make it a habit. We eat them as soup, or make bean salads. I may blend part of these with olives and spices and make a spread to eat on bread. I also buy varieties of beans, so we have a lot.
Last night I made up a pasta dish and put it in individual containers. My plan is to be ready any time I need to pack a lunch quickly for work. I had white cheese and shells pasta. I added finely chopped red onion, some frozen peas, and some chopped red and orange sweet peppers. I also added bacon bits, parmesan cheese, and nutritional yeast seasonings. I made three portions in reheatable glass bowls.
I will work on my notifications some, and do some other online things. Our car will be finished sometime this evening and we will go get it. It will be good to know it is in good shape.
Hubby ate breakfast and is back in bed for now.
So I am starting my week. No call in to work today. That is okay.

I am not sure what our weather has in store for us. I do know that it's not supposed to be above the mid 50's here today. Wednesday we are to herald in Spring, or so I hope.
I remember the days of making due with what we could afford on the SNAP program. I wish I could say it made me appreciate what I could eat but that wasn't always the case.
Hopefully you will get some subbing opportunities. Are you allowed / eligible to sub for any class or just for the Para?
Today I am doing surveys with branded. I am waiting for things to go through pending, I've already made enough for another cashout. I also have a book I can read when I take a break. I'll try to be on mylot a little more but it's a beautiful day here and I think I should go enjoy it.

I need to do branded and qmee more often. I can sub as a para or as an aid or apply to work with food services. If I chose to I have enough college hours to work as a substitute teacher, but I do not want to.

No, not until last Saturday, after I got it cut on Friday. We had so many details to do to get both of the cars in shape that I was never home long enough. My interactions here on myLot have suffered, too.

@GardenGerty That stinks. But least you were able to get it done finally, and hopefully you've caught up here since too

it rained quite a bit today but mostly we've had blue skies or partly cloudy with lots of sunshine. Sounds like you got a lot of food done in preparation for the week ahead. If I've sold nutritional yeast seasonings, I've not known what it was as I've never heard of that before. Is it found with the seasonings or yeast? Or in the nutrition section with the vitamins perhaps?

I got mine on Amazon. It is basically the same as Brewer's yeast, I suppose. It has a salty taste and looks like the shaker cheese for pizza. I added a picture here of what the skies turned into the day I posted this. We are to the point of having very brief rain showers just run in and out.

Good for you. Do you like yours very spicy? How about garnishes. Hubby wants fresh chopped onion. I like sour cream and cheddar cheese. I also like it plain, though.

What color will you go with your hair?
Mom just told me that beans were a protein too. I was surprised.
I'm happy it works out you have plenty of beans :-D

I use henna. I have used other herbs as well, so my hair is a medium brown with slight reddish highlights.

We had lots of 50's last week and may get up to the seventies in this upcoming week. I added an image on this post of one of our blue skies.
