How About A Song With A State Name In The Title?
I guess there are not too many songs with the name of an American
state in the title.
How many do you know?
I know this one from the Bee Gees titled
"Massachusetts", love it.
By the way, I remember how much trouble I had to remember
how to spell the word "Massachusetts" where One of my aunt
resided. But after much practice I did remember it.
How about you?

Gordon Lightfoot, 'Canadian Railroad Trilogy' and Justice in Ontario, I had to look them up but found a lot of "names" about Canada.

Actually there are quite a few Marlina. I like the Bee Gees Massachusetts a lot Most of the early Bee Gees tunes are really good. So, states like Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, New York, Ohio, and of course California.
You might of heard of "Kentucky Rain" a beautiful recording by the late great king Elvis. Another is Georgia on My Mind (Ray Charles) and Last Train To Georgia (Gladys Knight and the Pips).

Meet Virginia by Train...but I'm guessing he's referring to a girl's name, not the state

The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia is the first one. But I remember many of the ones mentioned by others too. Sweet Home Alabama is the second one.

I just love this Bee Gee song. What about this one? I think it always tends to get lost in the shuffle.

I don't think I've heard that one before. Good song.
There is the old folk song that names several states, and right now I can't think of the name of it, but it's starting to come to mind. - Edit - This Land is Your Land.

The Yellow Rose of Texas was the one that I thought of first. There are many, many more.
