It Scared Me

The other night, I looked toward my living room and saw this strange thing. It scared the heck out of me. It was green and there were things moving on it, like a small TV but too close to be the TV. I had to go check on this because I did not know what to think. It was a green gift bag sitting on the top of a stuffed chair. I used it to pack up some things that belong to my son and was hoping he would take his stuff with him. I guess I forgot about it. The stuff moving was lights and shadows and reflections from my laptop. It was so silly but I think my blood pressure was up and my heart was pounding. Do you ever think ridiculous stuff like there are beings invading your living room? What scares you at night?

I see shadow people. That's what I call them. They lurk in the corners of a dark room. They are right there in the corner of your eye, but are gone the instant you look straight at them.

I have seen things like that, don't know if it was people though. You see something move out of the corner of your eye and look again and nothing is there. What are those things?

@akalinus Who knows. But being a horror writer it is great fodder.

@porwest You write horror stories? I have some good ideas sometimes but I don't like that sort of thing. Do you give yourself nightmares?

@akalinus Weird noises in the house, lights that I noticed in the corridor. Nothing more.

@LadyDuck That is understandable. Weird noises still scare me and I don't like unexplained lights anywhere. I guess I need to know why something is happening.

I've had similar things happen, but always when I'm by myself. Sorry this frightened you so much!

I was by myself and I was tired and not in a great mood. I certainly did not want to deal with anything strange.

I have had this situation happen a few times, I have sweaters that kind of stick out of my closet since my closet is open and when it is really dark but a hint of light it looks like a looming dark figure is standing in the corner of my room. Which is funny because there is another looming figure standing on the side...but there are no clothes there! HAha!

That's funny. Do you see it every time and forget that it is just an illusion?

@DesirousDreamer Anything strange looking that you can't identify is scary until proven otherwise.

@akalinus Well sometimes things get moved around in my closet so the shadow doesn't appear for a while or there is just too much light in my room. So it only shows up when conveniently I am watching something spooky or something that doesn't have a lot of light haha

Sometimes I see glowing lights and wonder what they are..it usually turns out to be some kind of light from the house reflected in the window or something. I don't think it has been an alien..yet anyway..lol.

Let me ask, have you noticed missing time, have you woken up with a deer staring at you and wonder where you are? Do you suddenly realize your clothes belong to someone else and they are on wrong side out or backward?

Shadows and light can make things look different at night. I knew the bag was there but somehow when I saw this thing glowing and moving, I just somehow lost all reasoning power.

With two cats here coming and going out the window all the time, nothing scares me. Like early this morning my kitty niece as I call her Oreo jumped on my bed, I just told her to let me sleep some more or my cat Sid starts yowling early in the morning. But I could understand why that scared you. Lucky it wasn't the little green men from Mars

@akalinus the only two who come and go are Sid and Oreo but yes, it is a riot. I let Oreo out the front door and next thing I know there she is in front of me having come in through the window.

@RasmaSandra So funny. Most cats go in and out the door. Some people have a small pet gate built into the door so they can come and go as they please.

Cats go in and out the windows? That's hilarious. Do they bring their friends back with them? I heard two cats fighting on my roof the other day. It was so funny with them thumping and yowling up there. It was like a riot on my roof.

About a week ago, I left the blinds open on my sliding glass door, and out of the corner of my eye I kept seeing movement out on the back patio. It kind of freaked me out a little, I thought someone had broken into my screened patio and was rummaging around on my back porch. But then I realized it was all just the reflection of the TV off of the glass on the sliding door. It just caught me by surprise because I always close the blinds when it gets dark, but on this occasion I had forgotten to.

Anything we don't expect that catches us by surprise would freak us out a little or a lot. I'm glad you did not have to confront an intruder.

@akalinus Thankfully, I live in a very secure gated community, and all the neighbors look out for each other day and night, so I never worry about intruders.

I've had my heart tested a few times like that. I'm glad it wasn't anything to be afraid of. Not much because I'm usually asleep soon after my head touches the pillow.

I feel so silly being scared of a green bag. Maybe it was due to being night time and it was dark and I was tired. Beware of glowing objects in your living room.

@just4him Thanks for the laugh. Are you sure it was the moon? I am reading things about the moon that are strange. The moon is a machine, a computer that spies on the earth, the purpose unknown. It sees what you are watching on TV and reports to the home planet.

@akalinus The only glowing thing in my living room was the moon shining through the blinds last night.

i freak myself out over things like this too! once I slid my hands under my pillow and they brushed against the tag on the pillowcase, i almost screamed another time, my cousin had a cardboard cutout of some celebrity in her room and i forgot he was there when i walked down the hall in the dark and saw it standing there out of the corner of my eye. i jumped a foot in the air!

I don't blame you. I get jumpy when I don't know what something is. Like that green bag. I thought it was something paranormal. I have been scared of objects that looked like bugs. And I would freak out if I got up at night and saw someone standing there. It is because there is something unexpected or it looks like a spider.
