A Bit of Nostalgia

We received a surprise delivery yesterday, not knowing who it was from. I called the company to tell them a mistake was made. We did not order 3 bags of Charles Chips.
It was odd, because the woman knew exactly what we were calling about. She told me that the company forgot to enclose the card from the sender and read the message to me.
It said, “A bit of nostalgia for you and dad. You haven’t had these in years, so enjoy!”
“Love,” (our younger son).
We gobbled up 1/3 of a bag already and they tasted exactly the same. Our stores no longer sell Charles Chips, but our sweet and thoughtful son found them online. We haven’t had them for years and years, and they are the most delicious chips we’ve ever tasted.
Have you ever tasted Charles Chips?

Yes! While cleaning the basement of the old home place I found several of the tin cans they used to be sold in, I was thinking about keeping those tins and selling them but I need to see if its worth my effort.
Enjoy!

I remember those sherbet things as well.
I have not tried those crisps and have not tried any for ages either.
I loved Salt ´n Vinegar taste and that is not around here so do without.
That was a very nice thing your Son did for both of you .

@lovinangelsinstead21 They did, but can't stand shopping. My son will try to finish up online.
Don't say that it's too hot. People up north here will kill you!

Well that's a neat nostalgic gift that was indeed supposed to go to you guys (how cool of your son ). I don't think we have/had this brand out here . . . I wonder how potato chips can have any more potato taste (the packaging says that) . . . but surely they are delicious because my friend Dianne says so !

No, I have never tried them. My favorites through all my growing up years and beyond were Wise chips and just recently I was happy to find them in our Publix supermarket. If I find yours I will certainly try them. Perhaps somewhere online.

@DianneN I might have to look these up and try them. These were still the same recipe and quality you used to enjoy?

I have tasted Charles Chips many times. As a kid my Mom placed a regular order with the company and the Charles Chip truck would come around our neighborhood to deliver. While he was in the process of delivering the chips I couldn't resist taking a peek inside the truck to check out his supplies
Always fun to read a post about a shared past memory and being able to respond to it. I find these kinds of posts really enjoyable as opposed to someone's daily activities. As Bob Hope would say "Thanks for the memories."

I knew they had a truck, but I never saw one. I wish the stores still carried Charles Chips. They were always a favorite! I'm so happy I was able to bring back fond memories to you. Just tasting them again brought back fond memories for us, as well. Loved Bob Hope, too!
