Nowadays children prefer going out with their friends more than with their parents. Specially when they are between the ages 15 to 25.
I always liked going out with my parents but in my teenage I was more excited to go out with friends.
Now I enjoy both, as both are completely different experiences. I went out with my parents for dinner yesterday and we talked about random stuff. Not to forget, we enjoyed a great ,meal

My parents aren't really the type of people to go out. I don't remember us ever going out for a meal or anything like that when I was a child. Nowadays, I love to go out and do all sorts of things. My parents will, very rarely, go out for a meal with me and/or my sisters but they don't do much else!
The last time I was out with them was 2 months ago. My mum's and my mother-in-law's birthday is the same day, and my father-in-law's is a few days before, so my partner and I decided to treat the four of them to a meal to celebrate. We visit them often but we don't go out much. I also love to go out with my own children (age 13 and 19). I think my 19 year old likes coming out with me but my 13 year old just does stuff with us because we drag him along! He was away at camp when I took my parents for a meal so he didn't have to endure all of us old people :D

@Sheali My youngest has always been like that. He's not one for company. My other son has always loved to spend time with me, though!

@pumpkinjam That's such a nice co-incidence
Some children behave like this but once they grow up they start enjoying all company.. It is just the age

I see my parents regularly but the last time I went out with them was probably a year ago we went on a family vacation together.

My father is not here anymore, but my husband and I had dinner with my mother in January. My husband and I wanted to visit a restaurant close to my mother's home and we invited her to join us. We had a very nice time. Many years ago when my father was still here and wasn't ill we sometimes went out together. We had dinner together and had a few drinks in a pub afterwards.

@Sheali Thank you. My mother lives on the same island as my husband and me and we are able to see her quite often. We are going to have lunch with her next week.

@Sheali That is lovely that you enjoy spending time with your parents!
I am with my dad every day since I live with him and my older brother. We haven't been anywhere special for awhile now due to his foot but every weekend, if he is up to it, we go down to the shopping centre where we met my Nan to have breakfast with her.

I went with my parents for mostly family functions like marriages etc.
We hardly went out to eat in restaurants which were not the vogue when I was growing up.
Now times have changed but children prefer to go with their friends rather than with their parents - siva

I feel nostalgic because my parents are no more. It was a great experience to go for outing with my parents.
