You would really get along with my husband. He loves these types of games also. Anyway, my favorite (old school) game would have to be the Super Mario Games. They were a lot of fun to play.

I really do think the older games are the best. They graphics may not be great, but the plots were awesome. :D Not so much anymore...
The Mario games were great. And they still are, even after all this time!

Pong. My brother and I used to play it all the time at Zellers while Mom shopped. Then my brother bought the game console for $40 (WOW). It was just the one game; couldn't add anything else to it.

Oh man, I love old arcade games! Haven't played any in ages, though. That's awesome. I've actually got an Odessey system somewhere in my garage, and supposedly it still works.
We're going way back!

I'm with you Misskatonic, just add Final Fantasy II, Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past, Breath of Fire II, and Secret of Evermore to your list and you have mine. Some of the old NES games were pretty fun too, Dragon Warrior, Zelda I and II, Final Fantasy, course then there were games like Paperboy, Excitebike, Bayou Billy, and the Castlevanias that kept me entertained for hours on end (and still do :P)Thanks for the discussion, I love waves of nostalgia!!

Zelda's my favorite out of the classic NES games. :D Thanks for replying!

Gah, how could I forget Castlevania? I loved that game! I've played the others in the series, but the SNES was my favorite!

Besides from all the old-school Mario games on Nintendo, my all-time favorite game was an Atari (maybe Midway?) arcade game called S.T.U.N. Runner. It was was programmed using Polygons instead of regular 2D graphics of the day and it felt fast as hell.
After all these years I finally have it! PS2 put it out along with a couple other old arcade games so I can play it whenever I want! w00t!

I have to say my favorite is the good ol' Super Mario Bros. for NES. Can't beat it, in my opinion. Second best, has to be Tetris. As for arcade games, gotta love Arkanoid and Galactica. Awesome. :)

I miss and love the old Super Mario Brothers games. Luckily enough my husband has the old nintendo and super nintendo game systems so we play these games once in a while.

My very first game console was an Atari. We had Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Frogger, Galaga and a heap of other games.
Then I moved on up to the Sega. Sonic and Wonderboy were my favourites of that time.
Now I have a GameCube and GameBoy Advance. I have to admit I'm a bit of a Nintendo girl!
