i just saw this today - gorgeous young ladies in wheelchairs dancing much better than me!
chelsie hill is their founder.
she's been dancing since age 3, started competing at age 5.
but at 17, a drunk driving accident paralyzed her legs.
here is a video of the rollettes dance team.
as chelsie hill says on rollettesdance.com, “Dance is dance… whether you're walking or you're rolling.”

really? that's so good to know!
her website shows her and her partner on ellen's show.
here's the link. the first half is the interview so you can skip to the 2 minute mark to watch them dancing.

@hereandthere Nice ! I read her "about" section - I guess she is based out here now! What a productive young lady - beautiful and talented - she is truly an inspiration!
I hope I don't get in trouble for this link, but this is the one our friend is a part of:

@much2say acrobatic is the word i thought of when i watched it. they also remind me of ice skaters.
when you profit personally/directly from sharing a link, that's when it becomes self-serving.

this is what she wrote on her facebook page: "In 2010 I was a senior in high school when I left a party in an SUV with a friend who had been drinking. The SUV veered off the road and crashed into a tree, leaving me a T-10 Paraplegic. I was airlifted to a trauma center, where I underwent seven hours of surgery to fuse my broken back."
i wonder where that friend is now and what has become of him/her.

I hope that drive was jailed. I'm glad that didn't discourage her passion to dance.

maybe because she has been competing since age 5 (not 4 as i previously posted). in her fb page, she says "Less than a year later my father and I founded The Walk and Roll Foundation."

Yes I have seen the rollettes and they are amazing. I work with individuals in wheelchairs and showed them the video, and they loved it.
