I Got it Wrong

And he laughed about it and said it was okay. I don't know if I'm a typical grandma. My two youngest male grandchildren are close in age. Jon is older by a few months. He was born in 1995, Jayten was born a few months later, or so I thought. Maybe so. Still trying to work out the math on that one. Anyway, Jon was born in November 1995 and Jayten in April 1997, not 1996. How old is Jayten? 22 as he told me yesterday when I proudly presented him my painted rock for his birthday and got his year and age wrong. He's 22 and Jon is still 23 until the end of this year when he turns 24. Will I get that one wrong too? I shouldn't. He's told me often his birthday is 1995. Do you know how old your grandchildren are? Do you get their ages confused? Or am I the only one. The picture is my grandson with his rock.

My son's girls are ten months apart with their mom in the middle. That confuses me. My daughter's kids are three years apart for the first three, and two between the last two. Each of them is in a different month. I get the months okay, but the days of the month are hard.

My children, Julian and Josiah are a year and 9 days apart so at times I get the dates confused. So I completely understand!

Children grow up much too quickly. If we don't see them our memories will stay the same and if we do still think of them as children.

Yes, we do still think of them as children. I'm always surprised to see my cousins with families on FB.

I sometimes get them wrong, it takes a while for me to sit down and recall their ages but my biggest problem is when I have to take them to the doc or dentist and they ask their year of birth. Hellloooo, now I have a problem!!

I totally understand. That's how I messed up with how old my grandson was. I didn't know what year he was born, or rather remembered what year he was born.

@cintol Yes, it does. I still remember what year my kids were born, but I've resorted to a calculator to know their age. I'd say fingers and toes, but I've come up in the world of calculation.

My grandmother gets them wrong all the time, but I guess that happens with age, and having like 20-30 grands. LOL
