Open or Closed

Do you sleep with your bedroom door opened, or closed? At home we always have ours open. Here at my brother's house, the guest room is right off the living room, so it is often closed.
No one is here except Dad, and Bob and I. I left the door open last night.
It was the best night's sleep we have had since we came to visit. It just promotes better air flow throughout the house.
I know that I was always told that it was safer to sleep with the door shut, in case a fire broke out, it would not spread as quickly. Again, it is the air flow principle. I know that for privacy, and to keep noise and light out, it is a good idea to sleep closed, but for me, open doors are best.
I know, this is a strange early Sunday morning thought, but it is me.

I sleep with the door a little open so my cat can come in and out if she wants to.

A lot of us accommodate our pets this way.

I cannot speak for anyone else. I want her to be able to get to her littler box and water if she wants to get out. I also want her to be free to leave if she does not want to stay in the bedroom all night.

I always sleep with the bedroom door open, which airs the bedroom out and is conducive to sleeping well, especially benefits people with heart problem.

I would agree with you on this. Once the weather settles down, I will also have windows open in the house.

Our outside doors are closed, as you say for security. Our door into our bedroom is open, though for good air circulation in the house.

@JohnRoberts you must not have a noisy nosy pet to insist on coming in. @Jehagirl it seems many people leave doors open for their pets.

If anyone else is at our home I close the door, otherwise, it is open.

I sleep with mine closed unless Tony is having a bad night, then I leave it ajar to hear him calling me.

I sleep with mine closed. Just because my two year old likes to wake up and see if she can sneak in our room when she wakes up lol

I often closed the door of my room before going to the bed. I have this feeling that I am not safe if I don't close the door. Also, it became my family practice since my childhood.

I keep hearing about the closed door thing also. I sleep with mine open though. One of the dogs goes in and out throughout the night and she would wake me up scratching at the door if it was closed. My bedroom is also always horribly warm except in winter, so I’d suffocate with the door closed.

My door is closed. I've tried sleeping with it open but I just can't fall asleep
