in some cities, young people when they are in transit, even if they give, face to face with the elderly, they do not have that initiative to greet

To greet people is to show respect towards them. But that doesn't always meant that if we don't greet people, we don't respect them. The respect should be comes from within not from external. Yes but if greeting people makes them happy then why not? Yes nowadays its lacking.

The occurrences of change in our generations affect every living cultures and customs our forefathers had. How much more in the coming generation that it will become worser than now. Me too, I've observed that too in our country and I feel sad about it. Time is so fast that we are now in a generation of uncertainties.

@emelas Parents need to educate their kids earnestly. Such rituals may/may not be offered by schools rather parents need to take an initiave.
