Too many toys

I have 2 grandchildren who live with me. I can not believe the amount of toys they have compared to what my children had or I had. I used to have a toy box and a shelf for toys in my home when mine were small and it was enough space for things other than bikes and scooters and a dolls pram. Now we have a whole large press and a huge space under the stairs and space in the bedroom all filled with toys. Not to mention a shed full of bikes, scooters, truck, Batman stuff, A huge frozen doll house and a hundred other things. Ive a large box and a full set of drawers full of colouring stuff and books too. They also have I pads, mobile phones and other electronic toys. This isn't unusual here in Ireland in a home with children. Do kids have too much nowdays compared to years ago. I think so. What makes me laugh is if you give my grandson a big empty box he will play with it for hours making a tent or a chair or a bed or a garage or something else out of it. I think he enjoys that more than all the toys put together .
