Not only are we able to upload our photos again (Thank You myLot), but our son made some discoveries of his own.
He had texted me a photo of something strange popping up from the ground. He didn’t know what it was. He has other odd things popping up from the ground, too. This one is a beautiful crocus!
You have to understand that this is his first spring in his new house. He never much cared for my flower gardens or flowers in general until now. Amazing!
I’m certain he will find many other amazing things popping out of the ground, too.

Lilies are doing that here.
And I can understand your son's interest now that he has his own garden. That happens.

Very pretty find We have a small pretty flower that pops up every few years in the spring. The tulips and daffodils have sprouted up quite a few inches. When they bloom they don't get enough sun so they don't bloom very pretty. I need to getting to dig them up and plant them on the other side of my house where they will get more sunlight.

@DianneN aww that’s true they bloom so early in the season you living down south you won’t get to see them. Maybe you can grow some things down south that you wouldn’t be able to usually to kind of make you feel a little better.
I saw this in my yard when going to get the mail today. I have never seen this flower in my yard before and was excited as I think it’s what you have in your photo your son sent you maybe?

Thanks! He keeps showing us flowers that are blooming now, and we get such a kick out of him suddenly appreciating flowers. lol
The squirrels have transplanted many of my daffodils to the woods, but they still bloom. Unfortunately, I will never see them bloom again.

My dad was a gardener by occupation - and he did bonsai too. Our neighbors always admired my parents' yard, but I guess I always took it for granted. It wasn't until I had my own place that I took any interest in plant stuff at all! Nature is amazing - I hope nature gives your son more beautiful surprises !

@DianneN He's been doing bonsai for years. He's been asked to display them in shows and even to be an instructor . . . but he said nah to all that - just doing it for his own pleasure, he says. Gosh, the color on this crocus is so beautiful!

@wolfgirl569 It worked out well. He's been having a lot of work done inside and outside his house. None of it could be done by hubs or him. Welcome to the world of home ownership, although it's his second home.

Thank you! He certainly has had some surprises, both good and not so good in his home. He just installed a more powerful garbage disposal all by himself today. Of course, earlier in the day he called his father about it and watched a YouTube video, ran out, bought it, and installed it. lol

That's cool that he's now enjoying your flowers. We have yet to have any crocuses although the tulips are getting taller and the minature hyacinths are blooming.

@MarshaMusselman The former owner planted them. I haven't even pulled a weed from his place.

@DianneN Its beautiful, mine were purple and yellow. Yes, I will start a new Angel garden and a small veggie garden. My yard here is quite small but if I do it right it should look wonderful when its done. Gotta have my cucumbers, beans, carrots, etc. I soooo miss all my gardens in the old house so have to restart here.

@LowRiderX It's that time of year. I think most people are sick of winter.
