Diary Thursday 4th April 2019 My first job club visit this month, searching for work on community centre computers, and getting to chat with other job-seekers too. Afterwards I did a little shopping. Diary Friday 5th April 2019 A voluntary work day, the first of two in a row, helping social work students assessing a case study. It was a fairly easy assignment as the students were very good at working through the assignments. Diary Saturday 6th April 2019 My second voluntary work assignment was a day at a Health Mela, giving out leaflets promoting mental health awareness and calling for fresh volunteers to help in our activity. While at the university I picked up copies of a free arts magazine that carries a short feature on my book project. I was very happy to see that. Diary Sunday 7th April 2019 I used the library computers today for job searching, Mylotting and preparing ads for my book too. Diary Monday 8th April 2019 Job searching, posting copies of articles about my book to my mum by snail mail, and some writing activity. In the evening I ordered a book online from a small press publisher but my computer wouldn’t process the Paypal transfer without lot of extra security, so I settled for the direct bank transfer option. Unfortunately after locking the transaction as in progress it told me the account name I’m sending it to is over 18 characters long and that I need my own electronic card reader to complete the transaction so I’ll have to go to the bank tomorrow to sort out what should have been a simple job. Very annoying. Arthur Chappell

@asfarasiknow I am, and I expect my publisher is too as he has quite a strong subscriber's mailing list of his own - i'll know by weekend how we are doing

@arthurchappell You and your publisher must be building a great list of 'as featured in...'.

Actually, it sounds like you have had some fairly interesting assignments. Keep it up, maybe you will find a job you actually enjoy.

You had a busy schedule and a lot of job searching during the past days. Sometimes it is a pain to go through the security process of PayPal, I can understand why, there are so many scammers on the web. I am sorry you need to go to the bank, this is surely annoying.

@LadyDuck it was just a routine transaction for them - glad it is out of the way now

I hate when simple jobs become annoying. I hope you get it straightened out quickly. Congrats on having your book published.

Kudos on the voluntary work. Good luck finding a job. The easiest of tasks can turn into a major problem. I am finding that out with all the glitches I am encountering on my blog.

@LindaOHio yes I hate it when a task that should take minutes ends up taking hours or even days

I'm glad the arts magazine is featuring your book. That makes radio and magazines so far. Now you just need TV and the Internet, a podcast about books or something.

Sounds like you got a lot done. I have found that it is easier to have my PayPal transfer my money to my bank account directly.
