I thought I will die from cancer.

But, fate could dictate differently.
Most of you know me like an open book. Even if I only pop-in & pop-out here, some of you still welcome me like family.
Well, you almost lost me hours ago.
It's our 35th Civil wedding anniversary. We offered a Thanksgiving Mass in our Church. No, there is none of a special lunch that followed. Maybe we'll have it as we celebrate our 34th Church wedding anniversary come June 13.
When it was almost 6pm, my dearly beloved asked me if I want a ride around the neighborhood. I was about to tell him, "no, I'd rather stay in our room." But, I said, "ok!"
Thought of that we-time as a form of a "celebration" of this special day.
So, off we left on board his motorcycle.
Had a peaceful ride, thanks God! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of our place. Saw 2 kids riding their bikes while their parents were watching happily over them. Got a glimpse of flowers starting to bloom. Smelled the fresh air!
But, when we were about to cross a path, a car suddenly came, almost hitting the back part of our motorcycle! I even felt that air rush! I cried, "Lord!"
I know, it was our time. Almost!
So, I may not die because of this 18 years old cancer in my system? Worse, my dearly beloved could have died with me! Are we really destined to be together, forever?
It's been hours. Until now, I still can't believe that my dearly beloved & I are still alive.
O, God, I pray...if it's our time, please let us die in our sleep. Amen.

I'm so glad you didn't die like that KnehKneh - the best that any of us can hope for is to die in our sleep. How are you, apart from that scare? I was just about to go to bed when I saw your post, so had to at least say hello. It's nearly 3am here. Mahal kita.

@KnehKnah I understand! My father lived to be just a few months over 100 and we were so glad to have him all those years.

I guess you were blessed with life and you still have a purpose to fulfill in this lifetime that is why He has not decided yet when is the time for you to leave this world. I guess enjoy every bit of it from where you are and be grateful every second you have right now. Life is precious enough for you and your family.
My mother survive it for 10 years before she finally said it quits. Cancer defeated her but she fought valiantly I guess for her age and body.
I just hope and pray that you be happy with the extended life you have in you.

Going, in the company of the one you love sounds good, but not in a horrible accident. Be safe and live long and happily.
