How many times do you say 'Thank You', in a day?

Thanks, a commonly used word which makes the other person feel better of what he/she did or said. I say 'thanks' very often as I want to appreciates even the simplest things that people do. For example, a co-worker picking up the fallen pen for me. We generally don't thank our parents for small things as we Indians believe that it takes away the closeness and makes the relation more formal. For us, being thankful should be reflected in our expressions and by our actions later. How many times do you say Thank you in a day? Picture from google images

It all depends on the number of situations that I encounter where a thank you is appropriate.

Some days almost never, it depends if someone does something for me. Some days there is no reasons to say thank you when I am home alone doing my own things.

A word of Thank You is said if we get something from someone else, so I don't count it.

I never counted, but I'm sure I say it many times a day. I always say thank you to my husband, even if he hands me a piece of mail.

@Sheali I don't know how many times a day I say thank you. I'm sure there's many days I don't say it at all because nothing happened for me to say it. But I always say thank you and please if the time calls for it.

I say thank you in a professional or formal setup but otherwise I don't use it that much. I think some people consider it as a sissy talk

Same here.. Actually it depends on the culture as well.. I have friends and students from some countries, where they say Thank you everyday to their mom, when she serves them food and again when she serves something extra, if asked... So basically 3 to 4 times during each meal... same is true for thing someone else does... It is courtesy in their culture
