Blogging Vs. MyLotting

Just loving to write is not enough to be able to have financial freedom with writing. There are all sorts of "free" ebooks &/or training to help start a blog and to be able to monetize from it, but depending on your life it's not as easy as others make it seem. Here at MyLot you can just plug away engaging and interacting with others and you'll see your income rise even though small. Blogging takes focus. You need a "niche" to get a target audience to want to read your blog. You need to make your blog look pretty with a theme to attract an audience as well. Then you need to optimize your blog so that others can find it easily. Besides all that, content is very important. You can't just write any old thing if you want to keep your "niche" audience interested in your blog. After all that, trying to figure out how to make money with your blog to get income takes some strategy. Being on MyLot is so simple. You can discuss anything you'd like and the members will engage even it's just a basic question you may have about a topic. What's great is that there's an "explore" tab where you can find discussions where there's been no response. It seems that someone will almost always engage in a member's discussion to keep a person motivated to continue being active on MyLot. Blogging can be stressful if you can't find a niche &/or you can't focus on enough content. MyLotting is fun because there's no worries. Just engage and interact with others and you'll see your income amount rise without even noticing. Even if you don't hit the goal $5 monthly plus on MyLot, just keep plugging away and eventually you'll hit it. Blogging can take alot of work to get income. This is why I love this site.

I make as much as I can online. I love being on myLot but I also have four blogs, I do content writing, and I write for many different other sites. I always a thrill when money trickles into my PayPal.

@RasmaSandra I'm trying to get into content writing but deadlines among other things are an issue for me. I do some other things online for money.

I like both. I love my blog because I can write what I want and as much as I want. Money is not my prime goal.

Like @snowy22315, I've had blogs in the past that I gave up on but that was when I was just learning about blogging. Also like @LindaOHio, money isn't my prime goal but I'd like to eventually monetize my blog.

@TishaMears So would I; but for right now I'm a writing fool! I'm enjoying my blog tremendously. I also like it here! I get to meet so many nice people from around the world.

It all depends on one's own personal circumstances. Like you, I prefer the 'no stress' myLot platform. It's a great fit for me. I've considered blogging but never got absorbed in what it really takes to do it correctly. My schedule does not allow the time needed to run a blog.

@TishaMears It's good that you are able to recognize your limitations and work within them. I hope that your health issues improve for you.

@betlynfrnds I totally understand about schedule conflicts. My conflict is more about health issues than anything else. It's hard to stay consistent with my blog &/or on anything when battling things with my health.

I have had a couple of blogs. I gave them up after awhile. If I get a good idea for another blog I would go for it.

Yeah it is easier for me to earn from sites like myLot, bitLanders, Steemit, etc. than my own blog.

Sounds like if you want to keep at a blog you need to do it for something other than money?

@mynameiskate Oh, I've realized that. Being able to focus on anything else but money was an issue before for me. Now that things are somewhat ok financially now, I need to just write. I have other issues too like concentrating and focusing at all sometimes when I sit down to write after taking care of things at home as a single mother. I'm working on it.

@mynameiskate Thank you! Some people just can't empathize with others and assume things. Not everyone knows how to "balance". I'm still trying to figure things out even though my daughter's turning 16 this year. I have health issues as well, but even the people who know about my health issues don't seem to care or know how to empathize.

@TishaMears We all get out of balance I suppose, that's life. I do the running around or worrying about things that really don't matter, fuzzing over unimportant stuff that seem important at the time but aren't. That is part of life. As a single mom you have a very special and very important takes that is someone to look after. Lots of thanks should go out to mom's not just on one day of the year.

In the last post I read I said, you should look into blogging. I see that you have. I have two blogs myself. I have not posted on them in some time. I have been here. You are right, you need to build up a blog and that takes time. I have been blogging for five years and I have made many mistakes, but I have learned from all of them. I love mylot because of the people here. I often spend too much time here. But, I have a lot of fun. When I am here I stay off of Facebook and I like that in a way. It took me years to figure out what I wanted my niche to be and then stuff happens and things were crazy. I had to start over a few times. The thing about blogging is that blogging is a labor of love. You have to like what you are writing about. Yes, it can take years to build up a good following.

@TishaMears They it is easy because most of them are trying to sell you some type of product. It's a good mastering plan. I know people who make good money even a living off their blogs. But, they have been blogging for many years and sell several of their own products

@whiteream Absolutely! Blogging is definitely a labor of love. It's been awhile since I've written on mine because sometimes I could caught up here among other things I may having going on in my life. There are many who claim that it can be easy when those who have tried know that is not true. If it was so easy then there wouldn't be a need for so many to have alot of blogs mainly focused on how to do it the "correct" way without becoming too frustrated. It takes alot of work, focus, and ambition. I have done 2 outta of the three. Sometimes it can be very hard for me to focus when my life can be very hectic being a single mother and all.

Blogging is long term but you collect all earnings. Here we share earnings between each others.

@mrki444 I agree about the earnings part of it. Was just looking at the stress of the writing aspect of it.
