A lot of our famous stars were noted for doing great things, whether it was singing or dancing. Unfortunately doing something like dancing takes a lot out of one's legs and knees. I can speak from experience just as my boyfriend Bill can. He can barely walk due to the enormous arthritis in his knees. I can feel the horrific pain he feels in each step he takes to get from point A to point B. I am the same way. John Travolta is among some of the greatest dancers that you will see on the old movies. If you go to You Tube you'll find some of the other greats like Fred Astaire and many others, and I am sure they ended up hurting from the beating their legs took from their dancing continually on screen. When you see them on screen and admire their talent, also admire their hours spent in practice and learning each step. Admire the hours of pain in their legs from the practice until their muscles got used to the movements. Admire the aches and pains from completing the movies that they were doing the dance routines that the practice was done for. And when you watch each movie admire the men who not only were famous but also willing to give up their personal lives to entertain people who couldn't do those kind of movements. These people also in advanced years reached the point that even trying to walk became a challenge of putting one foot in front of the other. I admire each and every dancer and actor and actress who is willing to put in the hours to give us the special entertainment that they talent offers.

@runningriz I love the dancers moves in the movies. I totally admire their ability and grace in their dancing. I am about as graceful as a pig on roller skates. My mother decided for me to take ballet lessons as a small child. I wasn't in lessons for long when the teacher announced that we would be doing Swan lake for our Christmas recital. We all worked like crazy to memorize the moves and try to get co-ordinated for the show. I couldn't handle the moves for the show and couldn't get excused from the show. The day of the show all of us little girls (aged 5) came out in our costumes and did our dance in front of the fake lake painting. It was going pretty good until one little girl tripped herself and wiped out the whole line up of little girls trying to dance their part of the show. There was a pile of little girls in front of the painting of the lake...thanks to one little girl.....me! The teacher, at the end of the show, took my Mom to one side and told her that she normally would "suggest" to the parent that they take the child out of the class. In my case there was no suggestion, I was being dumped from the class and the refund check for the money my parents spent on the class would be in the mail Monday morning. To this day I am just as clumsy as a pig on roller skates.
