As if bad news could not be any more worse, news has it Notre Dame was ablaze.
Instantly, sadness engulfed me. The tolling of the bells of Notre Dame was one of the favorite narratives my daughters loved. Its world famous belfry resident was the hunchback we deeply loved - Quasimodo.
As I was musing about the burning, my daughter came down and showed me a sketch of Quasimodo holding the cathedral, crying.
I asked, "How could this be? I just saw the news."
My daughter answered, "Ma, artists can draw as they see things."
Thought I'd share with you that picture.

Yes, that is one reason I love Notre Dame, it's home to all the lonely and the outcasts.

A tremendous loss, actually, because the architecture was Gothic. Estimate time of reconstruction, I think, is five years.

Yes. Artists are incredible, they perceive something and they can illustrate that in art form, or music.
I am envious of the artistic people.
